  1. Ok first time post long time reader, like probably many of you I thought at first I was missing pieces and wanted to call Hasbro and go off on them since I figured everything was going to be obvious, or at least in places which were obviously visible.

Here is where you should find your statue of liberty head. It should be behind the monster's other head in a plastic pouch. Yes it is the one "screaming" and not the calm head that shipped at least on my body.

The parasites which are really disappointing especially for the price are inside of a compartment as shown in the pictures in the creature "peacefull head" which on mine was shipped on the body as the default head.

The head can be simply pulled off, and replaced with the other head. The batteries were already installed, the peaceful head you have to press a button of the back to make the sound. With the, I will call it the angry head, a simple tap the of the tongue will fire off the sound.

Hope this is helpful to some others as I at first thought things were missing.

  2. Looks like they screwed up the scaling of the parasites and SOL head with each other and the monster. The monster's teeth when scaled with the building seem longer than 5 feet (according to the DOD). It is unfortunate how the scaling of the monster changed throughout the movie and now it carries over to the toy.

  3. Excellent! With the pictures of this toy, we can study the anatomy of this creature much more accurately.

Bucket: The scaling NEVER changed in the movie. I checked several times.

Well, Sean McGuiness of Neo-Monster Island received his toy as well. Actually, he received two thanks to a big screwup on Hasbro's part. Now he's boycotting them because he's having trouble getting his money back and he had to ASK for an apology.

  4. Wolfgang -

Well if YOU say so, then it must be true. Nevermind the other people that thought so. What I'm getting at is when the foot came down on the tank, note the size of the foot. Then when it is being bombed toward the end, look how large the moster is and its feet compared to the streets. Oh yeah, and it was able to pick HUD off the ground and chew him up. 350 feet in quadruped? How is that possible?

  5. Instead of jumping on the bandwagon, you can always go and check again for yourself.

It never changed sizes. Yes, I've seen it all. I have it on DVD, I've watched it a zillion times. Don't take my word for it, though. Just keep in mind that Hud was NOT written as a professional cameraman.

Oh, and it's quite possible for it to lunge at Hud, bite him up off the ground like he's a loose kibble, and then try to chew and swallow him. Just because it's a giant monster doesn't mean it can't.

  6. Okay, I give up. You must be right. Coming from an expert that has watched it a zillion times. Tell us, oh great one, what will be in the sequel? The bandwagon eagerly awaits....

  7. Look, Bucket, put it in Windows Movie Maker and use that to examine every little frame if you have to. But it does NOT change size, and it IS possible for a 300 foot monster to bend down and snatch something off the ground with its jaws.

Considering that Clover actually has two elbows on each arm and the shape of its jaws, I'm not at all surprised that it was able to snatch up Hud.

  8. I thought it was 350 feet. See? Now you're changing the scale of the monster. Will the madness ever end? Yes it will, right now. Something tells me Wolfgang won't share his clover toy with me...

  9. Don't have a Clover toy to be honest. That's why I said "pictures of the toy." I'm too poor to get this thing.

I'm a college student, what do you expect?

By the way, no, I'm not changing the scale of the monster. Scroll down and have a look at the Special Investigation Mode article. The creature is estimated to stand between 240 and 300 feet in height and is estimated to be about 1200 feet long from head to tail.

  10. I forgot it mentioned that on the Blue Ray. I swear somewhere it was mentioned to be 350 (not on the Blue Ray but elsewhere). Can't blame me though, it has been a while since any real stuff came out. Wolfgang, I say we gang up and take our lunch money back from John....nerds unite!!
